Made For More Ministries Healing Ranch Overview

Healing Ranch will be a transformational oasis of healing, a central home base offering an array of positive, affirming and nurturing programs to serve individuals attempting to cope with the special challenges of being fostered, adopted or an at-risk youth as well as survivors/co-survivors of the emotional, mental and physical ravages of breast cancer.

  • Personal and flexible approach to healing, inviting the Spirit to move and direct each individual experience. The uniqueness of each person and each situation will flourish as God meets everyone where they are, not where we assume, desire or initially perceive them to be.
  • Not designed to “fix,” but rather to walk alongside, inspire and build bridges to the Ultimate Healer.
  • Offering Equine Assisted Learning (a proven empowering process for people dealing with personal, work or school stress, life transitions, grief and loss, relationships, communication and general daily life).

The dream of Healing Ranch evolved along with Made For More ministries (M4M) from the debris following a series of life, marriage and health adversities – and the resulting blessings – of the founders. Encompassing serving, encouraging, meeting, writing, leading and programs/experiences, M4M walks with those suffering from life’s onslaughts to discover their God-given MORE – to develop a personal, healing relationship with a Father who loves them unconditionally and to share the journey with fellow believers, encouraging each other along the way. The programs/ experiences offered at Healing Ranch were developed from the founder’s personal life experiences and have been and are currently presented at various locations and ranches, including the founders’ garage. Amy and Tom have developed relationships and programs with organizations who are ready to place a steady flow of youth and survivors through Healing Ranch.

Made For More is seeking like-hearted individuals and organizations eager to invest in those in need to make Healing Ranch a reality, with the following priorities:

  1. Obtain land
  2. Select horses and build shelter
  3. Begin transforming lives with equine programs
  4. Underwrite salaries and operational cost for initial three years
  5. Fund and complete two-phase build out – see full ministry/business plan
  6. Continue transforming lives with full offerings and impact

To offer a nurturing, healing experience to those in need of restoration – mental, emotional or spiritual, while unconditionally displaying God’s love.

Appendix I – Programs/Experiences Offered:

THE OUTPOST EXPERIENCE – Provides aged out foster youth with numerous consistent, real life, hands on experiences designed to better equip them to face workplace, educational and relational challenges and become more independent and productive members of society.

HORSES.HEALING.HOPE. for cancer survivors – connecting small groups of women, horses and a personal walk with Christ throughout various stages of recovery. Offering breast cancer survivors the opportunity to take their next steps forward toward restoration and a hope-filled tomorrow. Designed to meet women at the end of their treatment cycle and the beginning of their new normal.

DESIGNED TO SHINE – small groups of young women gather to study Ocean Star by Christina DiMari and go through a 6-session journal as they work through the heart of God’s plan for their lives.

Appendix II – Founder Backgrounds:

Made For More ministries gradually evolved from a series of life, marriage and health adversities and blessings in the lives of founders Amy and Tom Hauser. Choosing to not allow their marriage, or their faith, to be mortally wounded or destroyed, they focused and built on the growth, blessings and God’s continual loving presence. They eventually moved to Texas in 2009 for Tom to pursue a personal-professional calling as chief financial officer of a ministry serving foster youth and adoption and Amy to develop Made For More.

The week after securing the domain name in May 2009, Amy was diagnosed with Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma – an extremely aggressive breast cancer. Plans for the ministry were put on hold, but the dream persisted. Amy journaled throughout her treatments and the compilation was published as In His Grip – A Walk Through Breast Cancer, resulting in hundreds of women and their families being encouraged through their own cancer battles. From their platform as co-survivors, Amy & Tom formed Made For More ministries to encourage others to discover their God-given MORE.

While “working” for years toward what appeared to be the American Dream, Tom & Amy slowly began to experience the crumbling of what they thought was their firm Christian foundation. Their whole story has many triumphs as well as deep, pain-filled tribulations which have all been part of what made them who they are today – lovers of truth, receivers of bountiful grace and warriors with battle wounds they know they are to share.

Throughout their journey they have prayed earnestly that God would use their lives as a blessing to others. He never said the path leading to their desires, or even His will, would be easy, but the gifts along the way would be worth the struggle as they discover His promises for true life!

Amy and Tom have been married for over twenty years and are the parents of Ross (19) and Sara (15). Their passion for foster and adoption stems from adopting Sara from Jiangxi province, China in 2000 as well as long-term relationships with Bethany Christian Services (volunteers, board member); Angel Reach (volunteers, board member, treasurer, program instructors); Compassion United (volunteers, board member, leaders, treasurer) and Abba’s Children International (director).

As breast cancer co-survivors, they have fully dedicated themselves to Made For More ministries since 2011 – writing (including published and Ebooks), blogging, speaking, encouraging and developing “experiences” (see below) to encourage others to discover their God-given MORE. Tom also supports other ministries by providing financial, accounting and general business support. Both Amy and Tom are active CanCare volunteers.

They have authored or co-authored six books:

  • In His Grip – a Walk Through Breast Cancer
  • Companion study guide for In His Grip
  • She Found A Lump – A Husband and Caregivers Guide to Battling Cancer
  • Finding More! – Discovering the More in Your Marriage
  • Screwtape’s Social Network (in process)
  • 2:47 a.m. – Up Late With God
  • Ongoing Blog at

Amy’s love of horses and the outdoors has led her to working with several equine programs and she is currently pursuing attaining her own EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth And Learning Association) certification.

Tom has a heart for supporting and encouraging – focusing on foster care/adoption, breast cancer survivors and those dealing with life struggles. An accountant and non-practicing CPA with experience ranging from small to very large entities, he is blessed with the gift of organization, planning and not-for-profit financial oversight; recently working with numerous local ministries as accountant and financial and business advisor.
